Job summary

The NSW Electoral Commission is seeking two temporary full-time Social Media Coordinators to manage and monitor our social media platforms for the 2027 NSW State election. The role involves content creation and contributing to media campaigns to engage voters and other external audiences.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement at our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office, with weekend work during critical election periods.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience creating audience-focused content for diverse channels including traditional and social media.
• Experience developing and implementing social media plans.
• Experience in social media community management and monitoring.
• Track record of delivering quality communications.
• Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.

Responsibilities

• Create content and contribute to media, social media and campaigns.
• Monitor social media platforms and respond to engagement during elections.
• Develop and implement social media plans for electoral communications.
• Collaborate with teams to build understanding of the electoral process among external audiences.
• Work weekend hours during critical election periods.
