Job summary

Numurkah Secondary College invites applications for an Education and Training support role within the Victorian Department of Education. The position involves assisting teachers, coordinating routine student activities, and maintaining workshop spaces aligned with OH&S standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating or supporting education-based tasks is desirable.
• Ability to communicate with teachers and students in a school setting.
• Familiarity with safety practices and basic workshop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines
• Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities
• Provides basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting
• Provide equipment maintenance and administrative support to the Technology department within the school. Participate in meetings in specific learning areas.
• Practical and technical experience in mechanical, metal work and woodwork disciplines with knowledge of OH&S practices
• Ability to work with equipment and machinery, including repair and maintenance of the workshop equipment to ensure students work safely.
• Ability to prepare materials for lessons and support lessons.
• Be responsible for safe storage of chemicals.
• Be able to communicate effectively with students and colleagues. Work in small team and independently.
