Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a skilled MineStar implementation specialist to install, configure and upgrade underground MineStar systems at new and existing sites.

You will work with customers and dealers to tailor configurations, perform testing, provide training, and ensure integration with other ICT assets. Candidates should have a technical degree and strong hands-on experience with mining software deployments, fleet management, and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant experience in a related IT/technical/engineering role.
• Extensive hands on experience with technical software system implementation, preferably in a mining environment.
• Extensive hands on experience with IT system architectures, enterprise computing infrastructure and cybersecurity.
• Hands on experience with (mining) heavy vehicle onboard technology system installation, configuration and commissioning.
• Experience in Fleet Management implementations is highly desirable.
• Experience in Underground mining is highly desirable.
• The ability to develop relationships through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to undertake up to 25% domestic and international travel.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for implementing our MineStar underground product suite (Command for underground and Fleet/Detect for Underground) at new customer sites including upgrades to existing MineStar customers. Implement system configuration and solutions to meet commercial contracts and mining business needs. You will support the dealer and customer during the installation and configuration of the software, debugging, testing, and integration of other systems to MineStar projects.

Job Duties

• Install and configure the complete underground MineStar system to meet commercial contract and site specific needs
• Support the implementation of system modules to specification and configure modules based on requirements gathered from customer's business analysis
• Planning and execution of integrated testing and customer acceptance testing
• Ability to problem solve through technical investigation and resolution, including responding to customer questions
• Provide implementation technical training to end users and system administrators
• Perform implementation and integration tasks for internal and external customers
• Assist with documentation, training and functional specifications
• Follow project management process and implementation assignments
• Provide basic training on our standard implementation processes and usage of MineStar systems
• Lead end-to-end system implementations and upgrades by assessing scope, technical requirements, infrastructure readiness, integrations, and business needs.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure ICT prerequisites, hardware, software, network, and system compatibility requirements are met.
• Develop and execute detailed deployment, upgrade, testing, and rollout plans across lab, UAT, and production environments while minimizing operational impact.
• Install, configure, commission, validate, and optimize application software, databases, reporting tools, and integrated systems.
• Support business analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), commissioning, and go-live activities, including backward compatibility and integration testing.
• Provide hypercare support post-deployment and complete technical documentation to ensure seamless handover to support and operations teams.

Additional information

• This position requires the candidate to work full-time in the Caterpillar Perth office. Caterpillar Adelaide or Brisbane offices will also be considered.
