• Assess complex designs, roadmaps and platform modernisation strategies for risks.
• Evaluate resilience, DR and architecture dependencies.
• Review risks for cloud infrastructure, AI, legacy tech and technical debt.
• Assess engineering practices including CI/CD, IaC, observability and SRE.
• Challenge senior technologists on architecture, control effectiveness and reliability.
• Analyze incidents and industry risks to deliver actionable recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships across Architecture, Engineering and Technology teams.

Executive Manager – Technology Risk

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technology Risk professional to join a large, complex organisation undergoing significant technology transformation.

This senior role will provide independent risk oversight and challenge across technology architecture, engineering, infrastructure and strategic transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent technology risk oversight and challenge across major transformation programs, enterprise architecture and engineering initiatives.
• Assess complex technical designs, infrastructure roadmaps and platform modernisation strategies, identifying emerging risks and control weaknesses.
• Evaluate technology resilience, disaster recovery, operational recoverability, critical failure scenarios and architecture dependencies.
• Review risks associated with cloud infrastructure, AI, legacy technology, technical debt and technology obsolescence.
• Assess engineering practices including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, observability and site reliability engineering (SRE).
• Challenge senior technology leaders on architecture decisions, control effectiveness, reliability, scalability, security and resilience, balancing risk management with delivery objectives.
• Analyse internal incidents, external events and emerging industry risks to deliver forward-looking insights and actionable recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships across Architecture, Engineering and Technology teams, translating complex technical risks into practical business outcomes.

Profile

• Extensive experience in Technology Risk within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong technical knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud, infrastructure, networking and software engineering.
• Understanding of SRE, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, disaster recovery and operational resilience.
• Proven ability to challenge senior architects, engineers and technology executives.
• Experience working with AWS, digital solutions and engineering.
