Job summary

Chubb Fire & Security Australia is seeking a Workshop Technician based at our Salisbury, Brisbane branch to inspect, service, repair and assemble fire safety equipment in our workshop. You will ensure compliance with Australian Standards and Chubb quality.

Training will be provided to develop mechanical and electrical aptitude in a team-focused environment. You will maintain tools, records, and ready-to-deliver equipment while collaborating with field technicians and customer service to meet

Workshop Technician

About The Role

Based out of our Salisbury, Brisbane branch, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair and assembly of fire safety equipment in our workshop, ensuring all work meets industry regulations and Chubb’s high quality standards.

Other Duties Will Include
  • Service, maintain and repair fire protection equipment (including extinguishers, hose reels, and related devices) in accordance with Australian Standards / relevant regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, testing and refurbishment of components.
  • Accurately document work completed in service records and job sheets.
  • Prepare and assemble new equipment ready for delivery and installation.
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with field technicians, customer service teams, and supply chain to meet client deadlines.
  • Follow Chubb’s quality assurance procedures and safety policies.

About You

Whilst previous experience in the Fire industry is preferred it is not essential as you will receive all the training required to perform your role at a high standard. You have a service mindset to achieve the outcomes you and our company desire.

  • Previous experience as a workshop technician, trades assistant, or similar role in fire protection or related industry (mechanical/electrical).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Relevant industry qualifications or willingness to undertake training (e.g. QBCC in Australia).
