Job summary

Chubb Fire & Security Group is seeking a Graduate Engineer to design and deliver fire protection systems for diverse industries. You will support project management from design through commissioning, including water and special hazards systems, with CAD and Hyena involvement. Travel across New South Wales is expected.

Your background includes hydraulic design knowledge, CAD proficiency, and a drive to grow within a global fire and safety leader.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in hydraulic services design or equivalent is essential.
  • Strong CAD drafting skills and understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to learn project lifecycle and assist project managers and estimators.
  • Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel across New South Wales.

About the Role

Based in Western Sydney (Rydalemere) and reporting to the Installation Manager, this newly created role will see you take responsibility for project managing minor works from design stage to completion for existing clients and new opportunities, as they arise. These projects will include system design, installations, upgrade, and commissioning of all fire protection equipment.

This will include:

  • Assisting the Engineering team in the development of mechanical fire suppression designs via CAD and Hyena
  • Effectively developing and managing deliverables of water and special hazards suppression system install projects
  • Assisting in the execution of project commissioning with system engineers and technical team
  • Developing and preparing commissioning documentation, Final As Installed plans, and Operation and Maintenance manuals
About You

You will be self-motivated with the ability to work in an unsupervised environment, and possess the curiosity and the desire to acquire information to get to the bottom of issues, which ideally would have been learnt in the Fire or similar industry, and this will be supplemented by:

  • Diploma of Hydraulic services Design
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) – and drafting skills with AutoCAD proficiency
  • An understanding of Hydraulic systems and CAD drawings for mechanical piped systems
  • An ability to learn the project lifecycle and assist the project managers.
  • An ability to learn the quote process and assist the Estimators.
  • Experience organising jobs appropriate for the workforce based on, backlog, urgency, financial requirements, and customer needs.
  • Australian Drivers Licence (mandatory)
  • Must be willing to travel as required across New South Wales
