Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Brisbane Master Rebuild Centre seeks a Mechanical Technician to join a highly skilled team. You will specialize in rebuilding high-horsepower engines, working on 19L to 78L engines in a world-class facility with ergonomic tooling.

This role starts on a day shift (6am–2pm) with potential move to afternoon shift (2pm–10pm). You will help deliver 'As New' reconditioned engines and participate in Cummins world-class engine training.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine assembly, heavy equipment preferred.
• Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and work in a structured, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Remanufacture high-horsepower diesel engines for mining customers.
• Collaborate with a skilled team to deliver 'As New' reconditioned engines using advanced tooling.
• Follow and update the Electronic Process Documentation System and related records.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Technician to join our highly skilled team in our Brisbane Master Rebuild Centre.

Great opportunity for a light motor vehicle mechanic to make the transition into the heavy diesel sector, or for a heavy diesel technician to enhance their skill set.

In this role, you will specialize in rebuilding our high-horsepower engines. Work on 19ltr to 78ltr (600-3500Bhp) industry-leading engines in a world-class facility! Enjoy the benefit of working with state-of-the-art ergonomic equipment and tooling that provides an efficient and safe environment.

This role would start in the day shift (6am to 2pm) with a possibility to move to afternoon shift in future (2pm to 10pm)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Remanufacture the highest quality, High Horsepower Diesel Engines for our Mining customers




• Work as part of a highly skilled team to deliver 'As New' reconditioned engines using high-tech equipment




• Be supported by a state-of-the-art 'Electronic Process Documentation System.'




• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to the Production Manager




• Complete required documentation, such as Safety Check Sheets, Process Quality Checks, Daily Time Sheets




• Build on your career with our Cummins World Class engine training at our dedicated training facility

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Open to all mechanical related trade qualifications




• Demonstrated experience in engine assembly - heavy equipment is highly desirable




• Ability to consistently generate high-quality work




• The ability to follow documented procedures and enjoy working in a structured team-orientated environment
