Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Sydney area seeks a Diesel Technician to join a high performing workshop team in Wetherill Park, NSW. You will perform repairs and rebuilds on diesel engines across market segments, mainly automotive, in a supervised service workshop.

The role requires mechanical trades qualification as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (Australian standards) and experience with diesel engines. You will contribute to documentation and maintain a safe, clean workspace while adhering to Cummins

Qualifications

• Mechanical trades qualification as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (Australian standards).
• Experience in repairs and maintenance of Diesel Engines preferred across heavy equipment and on‑highway fleets.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
• Diagnose and repair engines.
• Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines or components.
• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning.
• Maintain work area, tools and cleanliness.
• Complete required documentation (work completed, time sheets, warranty claims, quality forms).
• Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report issues.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our high performing team in Wetherill Park, NSW.

In this role, you will complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products across all market segments (predominantly automotive) in a service workshop under supervision

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products

• Diagnose and repair engines

• Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and /or engine components

• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning

• Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

• Assist with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens

• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)

• Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Diesel Engines, On Highway Truck, Construction or Agriculture desirable but not essential.

• Diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities

• Be a team player & be prepared to adhere to Cummins Policies

• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues / incidents to shift supervisors
