Job summary

Newmont is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Fitter) to sustain safe, reliable operation of Boddington's crushing and conveying assets. You will work on primary, secondary and tertiary circuits, maintain crushers and conveyors, and support planned shutdowns within a safety-driven environment.

The role requires an Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate with experience in mining or heavy industry, and CMMS/SAP exposure is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
• Experience maintaining fixed plant processing equipment within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capability on crushing/conveying equipment.
• Experience using CMMS systems; SAP exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across primary, secondary and tertiary crushing circuits and conveying systems.
• Maintain and repair crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, transfer stations and HPGRs.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections, fault finding and breakdown response to maximise reliability.
• Support planned shutdowns and execute belt, pulley, idler, liner, chute and structural component change-outs.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams while complying with site safety, isolation and permit-to-work requirements.

As a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Fitter), you'll play a key role in maintaining the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Boddington's crushing and conveying assets. Working within one of Australia's largest gold processing facilities, you'll support plant availability, equipment reliability and production performance while upholding Newmont's strong safety and environmental standards.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

• Perform maintenance activities across primary, secondary and tertiary crushing circuits and conveying systems.
• Maintain and repair crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, transfer stations and High-Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR).
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections, fault finding and breakdown response activities to maximise equipment reliability.
• Support planned shutdowns and execute belt, pulley, idler, liner, chute and structural component change-outs.
• Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams while maintaining compliance with site safety, isolation and permit-to-work requirements. About The Candidate

• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
• Previous experience maintaining fixed plant processing equipment within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding capability and experience working on crushing and conveying equipment.
• Experience using CMMS systems, with SAP exposure highly regarded.
• Current C-Class manual driver's licence, with high-risk licences and Working at Heights or Confined Space competencies considered advantageous.

Work Environment

Your Work Environment

This role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on / 7 days off rotating day and night shift roster at Boddington Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical, you will be part of the Dry Plant Maintenance team and work closely with Operations, Planning and Maintenance personnel to support the reliability and performance of critical crushing and conveying assets in a safety-focused and collaborative environment.
