Job summary

South32 is recruiting for a permanent maintenance role at the Boddington Bauxite Mine in Western Australia. The position operates on a 42-hour continuous day & night shift roster, located a short drive from Boddington, Pinjarra and Mandurah.

You will perform preventative maintenance and component changes on Caterpillar, Komatsu or Hitachi SME, using CAT, SIS and ET systems. You will record activities and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Automotive Electrical Apprenticeship and trade certification.
• At least 12 months exposure to preventative maintenance and major component changes on heavy equipment.
• Experience using CAT, SIS and ET systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to safe work practices and procedures.
• Execute maintenance work orders on heavy equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Record maintenance activities and history in the CAT/SIS/ET systems.
• Coordinate with maintenance team to ensure work is completed to high standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent role on a 42‑hour continuous day & night shift roster, at our Boddington Bauxite Mine, which is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Demonstrate commitment and conformance to safe work practices and procedures
• Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system
• Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions as directed by the supervisor maintenance or superintendent maintenance
• Ensure work is done to the highest standard and history is recorded in SAP notifications for future reference

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• At least 12 months exposure on performing preventative maintenance and/or major component change outs on caterpillar, Komatsu or Hitachi SME
• Experience using CAT, SIS and ET system

Qualifications for this role:

• Successful completion of an Automotive Electrical Apprenticeship and holds a nationally recognized trade certification
• Current C class driver’s license
