Job summary

South32 seeks a Maintenance Supervisor at the Worsley Alumina Refinery, near Collie. Lead a maintenance execution team to deliver planned work safely and to standard, coordinating daily activities and resources.

The role requires heavy industry experience, WA Electrical Workers License, and WHS supervisor certification. This is a permanent on-site role with 10‑hour days on a Monday–Thursday roster; drives in from within an hour's reach.

Qualifications

• This position requires proven supervisory experience in refinery maintenance or related heavy industry.
• Current WA Electrical Workers License is required.
• Statutory Supervisor Legislation Examination Certificate (Schedule 26 – WHS Regs 2022) is required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position working a Monday to Thursday roster, with 10‑hour days. This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.

As the Supervisor Maintenance you will be responsible for leading and supporting a maintenance execution team to deliver planned work safely, effectively and in line with operational standards.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate daily work, allocate resources and adjust schedules as operational priorities change.
• Verify critical controls, work standards and procedures are understood and consistently applied.
• Maintain accurate SAP information, equipment history, work orders and resource capacity data.
• Coach team members, encourage continuous improvement and collaborate across operational functions.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Supporting and guiding maintenance teams within an operational or heavy industry environment.
• Building inclusive, respectful teams through regular coaching, feedback and development.
• Communicating clearly and working collaboratively across different teams, levels and disciplines.
• Planning work, managing competing priorities and responding calmly to changing requirements.
• Applying sound judgement, solving problems and escalating operational concerns appropriately.
• Using SAP and Microsoft Office applications to support work management, reporting and planning.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Current WA Electrical Workers License
• Statutory Supervisor Legislation Examination Certificate (Schedule 26 – WHS Regs 2022)
• Supervisory experience in a refinery maintenance environment.
