Job summary

South32 is seeking a dedicated HV Electrical professional for the Worsley Refinery in Western Australia. The role is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour week, Monday to Thursday, and requires proximity to Collie.

You will maintain and repair high voltage assets across refinery, mine, and port facilities while contributing to a safe, efficient operation. Ideal candidates hold WA A Grade Electrical License and HV Switching Certification, with SAP experience and a strong safety culture.

• Experience in High Voltage electrical maintenance in large-scale operations.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical diagrams and manuals.
• Strong safety mindset with proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair high voltage assets across Refinery, Mine, and Port facilities.
• Perform inspections, testing, servicing, and oil sampling of power transformers.
• Diagnose HV/LV electrical assets safely and efficiently.
• Program and test HV protection relays and troubleshoot faults.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on 40 hours per week,Monday to Thursday roster.Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

Reporting to the HV Electrical Supervisor, your role will be to safely maintain and repair our high voltage assets across various sections of the Refinery, Mine, and Port Facility.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Maintenance, testing, and repair of high voltage circuit breakers, contactors and switchgear
• Execute scheduled inspections, testing, servicing, and oil sampling of power transformers.
• Diagnose/repair HV and LV electrical assets safely and efficiently.
• High Voltage protection relay programming, interrogation and testing/troubleshooting.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Proven experience in High Voltage electrical maintenance, particularly in large-scale operations.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to safety.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Familiarity with SAP work processes, including work order execution and data management.

Qualifications for this position are:

• WA “A” Grade Electrical License
• High Voltage Switching Certification with demonstrated experience in operation and maintenance of High Voltage equipment
