ALS is seeking enthusiastic Technicians to join our metallurgical services team in Perth, WA. This casual role offers up to 75 hours per fortnight with day, afternoon and occasional night shifts, reporting to the Area Supervisor.

Training will be provided and there is a view to permanent full-time employment after a period of service and successful performance. Based in the Balcatta laboratory, you will perform laboratory testwork procedures safely, maintain cleanliness, and ensure accuracy and

You will be a casual employee working up to 75 hours a fortnight (shift work is required for this role- day/afternoon and occasional night shifts), with a view to permanent full-time employment after a period of service and successful performance.Reporting to the Area Supervisor your responsibilities as a team member, will be to perform metallurgical laboratory testwork procedures safely and successfully to meet the expectations of our clients.These are not FIFO mine site positions. All training will be provided.The day to dayApplicants will be based in the Balcatta laboratory, typical duties include:Undertake laboratory activities which may include but are not limited to cleaning, labelling, weighing, bulking, sample preparation, digestion, fusing, instrument operation, classical methods, completing jobs/runs for subsequent procedures.Apply time management skills so that routine laboratory activities are conducted in a safe, accurate and timely manner.Maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in the workplace.Strict compliance to ALS procedures and policies.The essentialsApplicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.Suitable candidates for this role must have:Good communication, organisational and time management skills.Great attention to detail and be highly motivated.Ability to undertake Shift work, both Day and Afternoon as required.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual handling tasks.Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.Alignment to ALS core values and culture.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
