Job summary

Paxus is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support the development, review and update of technical documentation, work instructions and procedures within a large operational environment in Adelaide.

The role requires collaboration with site teams, vendors, training, reliability, supervisors and project delivery to ensure documentation is accurate, practical and aligned with governance requirements. This 6-month contract is hybrid in Adelaide.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience creating work instructions, procedures, maintenance docs or training materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in document governance and document-control environments.
  • Understand technical information and translate into clear docs.
  • IT knowledge, particularly networking and communications, desirable.
  • Experience in mining, resources, engineering, maintenance or industrial environments advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update technical documentation, work instructions and procedures.
  • Review and validate existing documentation with relevant site and technical stakeholders.
  • Create maintenance work instructions covering different installation types and maintenance activities.
  • Update maintenance training documentation for end users.
  • Rewrite and improve procedures within an Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Ensure documents meet required formatting, governance and document-control standards.
  • Manage and incorporate review comments through to final sign-off.
  • Conduct peer reviews of technical documentation.
  • Liaise with technical and operational stakeholders to gather and validate information.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, consistent and fit for operational use.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support the development, review and update of technical documentation, work instructions and procedures within a large operational environment.

The role will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including site teams, vendors, training, reliability, supervisors and project delivery, to ensure documentation is accurate, practical and aligned with governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update technical documentation, work instructions and procedures.
  • Review and validate existing documentation with relevant site and technical stakeholders.
  • Create maintenance work instructions covering different installation types and maintenance activities.
  • Update maintenance training documentation for end users.

About You

  • Experience working within structured document governance and document-control environments.
  • Ability to understand technical information and translate it into clear, user‑friendly documentation.
  • IT knowledge, particularly networking and communications, would be desirable.
  • Experience within mining, resources, engineering, maintenance or other industrial environments would be advantageous.
