Job summary

MACA is seeking a permanent, full-time Technical Trainer Assessor to support the Mobile Equipment team from our Welshpool office, with an 8:6 roster across multiple sites. This role centers on compliance training and skills development for heavy mobile equipment across MACA mining sites.

You will report to the Technical Trainer Superintendent and contribute to safety, records, and continuous improvement while engaging with Project Managers and Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Deliver and manage compliance training and competency assessments for heavy mobile equipment across MACA mining sites.
  • Uphold HSEQ standards by working safely, reporting hazards/incidents, and ensuring full compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Support workforce development by liaising with Project Managers and Supervisors and coordinating training.
  • Maintain accurate training records, complete required documentation, and provide regular activity reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement through high-quality training delivery, process improvements, and active contribution to team initiatives.

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Technical Trainer Assessor to join our Mobile Equipment team on an 8:6 roster (roaming), working across multiple sites while being headquartered out of our Welshpool office.


Reporting to the Technical Trainer Superintendent, you will play a key role in compliance training and skills development for heavy mobile equipment across various MACA mining sites.

To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an open pit production mining environment.

  • Experience operating a range of heavy mobile equipment, including:

    • Dump Trucks

    • Dozers

    • Graders

    • Excavators



  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently.

  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel.

  • Current WA driver’s licence.

  • High Risk Work Licence (preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
