Job summary

SPT Labtech in Melbourn, UK, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide first and second-line support for our liquid handling and sample management instruments. The role is site-based and central to our European service operation, handling remote diagnostics and guiding field teams.

You will diagnose log and diagnostic data, resolve issues remotely where possible, and collaborate with R&D and Product Management on product improvements. A clear path to senior technical roles exists.

Qualifications

• Engineering HNC/HND or science degree with automation instrument experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line technical support via telephone, email, remote desktop and video conferencing.
• Diagnose hardware, software and application-related issues using structured troubleshooting techniques.
• Resolve customer issues remotely whenever possible, minimising instrument downtime.
• Escalate complex technical issues appropriately while maintaining ownership until resolution.
• Support Field Service Engineers with technical advice before, during and after customer visits.
