Job summary

BOQ Group is seeking a Technical Lead to join the Digital Customer Engagement team on a six‑month max term contract focused on digital onboarding platforms. You will lead design and delivery of secure, scalable onboarding solutions and mentor engineers across tech, product, risk and operations.

You will shape engineering standards, collaborate with vendors and drive improvements in automation, performance and delivery efficiency while ensuring customer‑centric outcomes.

Job description

We're looking for a Technical Lead to join our Digital Customer Engagement team on a six-month max term contract and play a key role in shaping and supporting our digital onboarding platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands‑on technical expertise with leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Business Application and Automation Lead, you'll provide technical leadership across our digital onboarding solutions, with a strong focus on Temenos Journey Manager (TJM). You'll work closely with Product, Technology, Digital, Risk and Operations teams to design, build and enhance secure, scalable and customer‑centric solutions that help deliver great outcomes for both our customers and the business.

This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, guide engineering best practice and support the delivery of high‑quality solutions across the full software development lifecycle. From solution design and development through to deployment, platform stability and production support, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our digital experiences continue to evolve and perform at their best.

You’ll also mentor engineers, partner with external vendors and contribute to improving engineering standards, automation, platform performance and delivery efficiency. If you enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders and leading through technical expertise, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

You – our preferred candidate is someone who has proven experience as a technical lead with a strong background delivering complex digital solutions in fast‑paced environments. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on technical capability, and you're passionate about creating solutions that are secure, scalable, maintainable and customer focused.

You'll have demonstrated experience leading technical design and engineering delivery, along with strong knowledge of web technologies, APIs, integrations and modern software development practices. Experience working with Temenos Journey Manager or a similar digital onboarding or workflow platform will be highly regarded, along with exposure to cloud technologies, CI/CD practices and modern DevOps environments.

You're confident translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and can communicate complex concepts clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. You enjoy building strong relationships, mentoring others and working collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes.

Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated industry would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in people who bring transferable experience and a growth mindset. If this sounds like the role for you – we would love to hear from you!
