Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Sydney seeks a Technical Operations Manager based at the Granville Laboratory. The role covers the NSW laboratory network, providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and technical governance to ensure quality and performance.

Travel between Greater Sydney and Newcastle is required; a fully maintained company vehicle is provided. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure NATA compliance, uphold safety standards, and lead high-performance teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Engineering or related science degree is required.
• Experience leading accredited laboratory operations is highly regarded.
• Strong commercial acumen with budget and resource management experience.
• Proven ability to lead specialist teams and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead Granville and Warabrook lab operations, driving budgets, utilisation, revenue, and profitability.
• Provide strategic leadership and technical governance across the NSW lab network.
• Drive compliance with NATA framework, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Champion safety culture, OH&S compliance, and legislative obligations.
• Lead, coach, and develop laboratory teams for high performance.
• Partner with Technical, Field Testing, Operational, and Sales teams for customer outcomes.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support growth and excellence.
• Oversee equipment management, maintenance, calibration, and asset planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
