Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Technical Operations Manager based at Granville Laboratory in NSW, with travel to Greater Sydney and Newcastle and a fully maintained company vehicle provided. You will lead the NSW concrete laboratory network, delivering strategic direction, operational leadership, and technical oversight to ensure quality, compliance, and performance.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, or Science.
• Previous NATA Signatory status and managed accredited laboratory operations.
• Experience leading specialist teams and developing a high‑performance culture.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, resources, and operational performance.
• Commitment to risk management and safety leadership.
• Ability to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead Granville and Warabrook lab operations; manage budgets, utilization, testing revenue, costs and profitability.
• Provide strategic leadership and technical governance across the NSW laboratory network.
• Drive compliance with the NATA framework, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Champion a strong safety culture with OH&S and policy adherence.
• Lead, coach and develop laboratory teams; foster high performance and capability development.
• Collaborate with Technical, Field Testing, Operational and Sales teams to deliver outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support growth and excellence.
• Oversee lab equipment management and asset optimization.
• Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes and service delivery.
• Contribute to strategic planning aligned with Heidelberg Materials objectives.
