Job summary

XPT Software Australia is seeking a Principal Engineer to own end‑to‑end architecture for cloud platforms. You will lead technical decisions, set design standards, and remain hands‑on across backend, frontend, cloud, and CI/CD to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient services.

The role requires deep expertise in .NET, ReactJS, AWS & Azure, and Terraform, with a strong DevOps mindset and mentoring responsibilities for senior and junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Principal Engineer in cloud‑native platforms.
• Deep expertise in: .NET, ReactJS, AWS & Azure, Terraform, and microservices.
• Strong DevOps mindset with hands‑on CI/CD experience.
• Ability to mentor Senior and Junior engineers at a technical level.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end technical architecture and engineering standards for cloud platforms.
• Lead architectural decisions and enforce reusable design patterns and frameworks.
• Design API‑first, microservices architectures in cloud environments and apply DDD principles.
• Ensure security by design, scalability, and resilience across systems.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering frameworks and manage complex integrations.
• Remain hands‑on across backend, frontend, cloud, and CI/CD as needed.
• Architect multi‑cloud solutions (AWS & Azure) and govern CI/CD with GitLab.
• Mentor teams on IaC using Terraform and establish release governance.
• Establish observability, performance, cost control, and automation of ops tasks.
• Define testing strategies across unit, integration, and E2E tests embedded in CI/CD.
• Oversee frontend practices including React optimization and accessibility.
