CommonAI CIC in Cambridge is seeking a senior engineering leader to build a simulation platform for AI inference systems. You will own the simulator codebase, align science goals with an actionable engineering roadmap, and lead a growing team across software, modelling and hardware.

You will mentor engineers, shape recruitment, ensure predictions align with physical measurements and established workloads, and translate high level direction into practical engineering decisions to deliver

Formación

• Extensive experience delivering complex software or hardware/software systems.
• Proven track record in technical leadership and mentoring.
• Depth in systems simulation or computer architecture or HPC.
• Ability to translate scientific direction into engineering decisions.
• Experience leading teams and recruitment.

Responsabilidades

• Own the simulator codebase and set an engineering roadmap.
• Evaluate existing simulators and interfaces; decide what to reuse, extend or build.
• Shape recruitment and line-manage engineers across software, modelling and hardware.
• Ensure simulator predictions match physical measurements and real workloads.
• Establish maintainable software practices, testing and reproducible experiments.
• Contribute to implementation and debugging when needed.
• Lead early projects from investor questions to evidence reports.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the team.
• Collaborate with universities or technology suppliers as needed.
