Job summary

Arcadis on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Associate Technical Director or Technical Director to lead delivery, technical governance and project management of civil land development projects. You will provide strategic and technical leadership across the full lifecycle, ensuring designs meet intent, client objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• RPEQ or eligibility strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience delivering urban/land development projects in a design and leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, design standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead technical review processes and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and client relationships.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of urban development projects from concept through construction support.
• Manage scope, programme, budget and risk to achieve commercial and technical outcomes.
• Oversee multi-project delivery ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Provide leadership to project teams, fostering a high-performing environment.
• Provide technical oversight and review of civil designs, ensuring compliance with standards and approvals.
• Coordinate across civil, drainage, transport, environmental and external consultants.
• Lead client meetings, presentations and workshops, communicating technical information clearly.
• Support project financial performance through resourcing and delivery efficiency.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
