AECOM Australia’s Adelaide team seeks an experienced Technical Director – Design Manager to lead the design management for a major defence infrastructure programme. You’ll direct integrated teams across Australia and the UK, elevate safety-critical delivery, and maintain rigorous design quality in a complex NSQEP environment.

With 25+ years in defence or nuclear sectors, Chartered status, and a proven record of leading multidisciplinary teams on highly regulated projects, you’ll mentor

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
• 25+ years of experience in defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
• Chartered status or professional membership with a recognised industry body.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated design teams across Australia and the UK to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership across complex process engineering systems, with focus on radiological waste management.
• Guide design integration across multiple disciplines and manage project risks.
• Mentor engineers and promote nuclear safety culture.
