Job summary

Strategic Partners Australia is hiring a Senior Project / Delivery Manager (OpenShift) for a Federal Government client. Hybrid work across Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide with 3 office days per week.

This role requires 10+ years in technical delivery management, baseline security clearance, and the ability to lead multiple technical teams to deliver complex ICT projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Technical Delivery Management experience in a complex ICT environment.
• EL2-level delivery leadership experience with a federal client is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of technical projects including scope, schedule and budgets.
• Lead technical teams of developers and engineers to achieve milestones.
• Ensure adherence to standards, methodologies and quality controls.
• Identify and mitigate risks; provide escalation and mitigation options.
• Coordinate resources and kick-off activities across locations.
• Produce timely status reports aligned to business objectives.

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Senior Project / Delivery Manager (OpenShift) - EL2

• Contract Duration: 03 Years (12 Months initially + 24 Months extension)
• Work Location: Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide (Hybrid - 03 Days Office / 02 Days home each week)
• Eligibility: You must need to have Baseline Security Clearance or above.

• Tentative Start Date: 1st Nov 2026
• Working Hours: 8 hours a day/ 40 hours a week

Key duties and responsibilities

As a Delivery Manager Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery of technical projects and services including overseeing the technical execution, managing technical teams and ensuring the timely delivery of the project in alignment with business objectives.

• Identify key business objectives to deliver business outcomes and benefits.
• Manage scope of projects from inception to closure. Define, develop and manage implementation schedules and project budgets.
• Coordinate resources, prepare project teams for kick-off and ensure effective completion of project milestones, control project scope and mitigate risks.
• Ensure project consultants are delivering to configuration, development, and methodology standards.
• Ensure delivery processes are efficient and cost effective.
• Ensure technical teams adhere to industry best practices, standards and methodologies.
• Lead and manage technical teams including developers, engineers and other technical professionals.
• Identify and manage risks related to the technical delivery.
• Provide expertise to support teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Timely escalation of issues and risks with mitigation options to support informed decision making.
• Ensure project status reports are generated against business objectives by making use of project management methodologies and frameworks.

Technical skills

Project Scheduling tools:

• Knowledge and understanding of OpenShift container platform infrastructure.
• Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of Microsoft technologies.

Knowledge / Qualifications

• 10+ years of Technical Delivery Management experience in a complex, high pressured ICT environment.
