Job summary

Recruitment Hive is seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager for a Federal Government ICT delivery program in Canberra. You will oversee delivery from inception to closure and provide strong technical direction for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include defining schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring governance and risk management. 3–5 years in technical delivery within a high‑pressure ICT environment is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Technical Delivery Management experience in a complex ICT environment.

Our client, a Federal Government agency responsible for delivering advice and high-quality, accessible social, health and child support services and payments, is seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager.

Duties of the Technical Delivery Manager

• Manage scope of projects from inception to closure;
• Define, develop and manage implementation schedules and project budgets;
• Coordinate resources, prepare project teams for kick‑off and ensure effective completion of project milestones, control project scope and mitigate risks;
• Provide technical direction and leadership;
• Ensure technical teams adhere to industry best practices, standards and methodologies;
• Lead and manage technical teams including developers, engineers and other technical professionals;
• Identify and manage risks related to the technical delivery;
• Provide technical expertise and support teams to solve complex technical challenges.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience managing financial records, project budgets and compliance requirements;
• Strong change management experience across large and complex organisational initiatives;
• Proven ability to lead strategic change management programs and initiatives;
• Strong project governance experience, including monitoring, change control, risk and quality management;
• Experience defining, managing and prioritising requirements using appropriate methodologies, tools and techniques.

Technical Skills

• Project Scheduling tools;
• Knowledge and understanding of OpenShift container platform infrastructure;
• Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of Microsoft technologies.

Knowledge / Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of Technical Delivery Management experience in a complex, high pressured ICT environment.
