Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited in Sydney is seeking a technically minded Technical Business Analyst to document business processes, data flows and system interactions across trading and operational platforms. Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience analysing structured data and investigating complex business or technology problems, with the ability to independently validate findings and identify root causes.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to interpret technical documentation, system integrations, APIs, system logs, and data flows across multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrated capability to document business processes, business rules, and data lineage clearly and accurately, creating trusted resources for both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools, data analysis techniques, or automation solutions, with the ability to critically assess outputs and verify results through evidence-based analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams, challenge assumptions constructively, and work effectively in complex and evolving environments.

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will establish and maintain trusted documentation of business processes, systems, and data flows across a complex technology environment. We're looking for a technically minded problem solver who enjoys investigating how systems and processes work, validating assumptions with data, and uncovering the root cause of complex issues. Working closely with business and technology teams, you will analyse operational workflows, data flows, and system interactions across trading and operational platforms, investigate discrepancies to establish trusted sources of truth, and deliver evidence-based insights that support business decisions and technology change.
