Job summary

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Technical Business Analysts to support complex technology delivery projects for an Australian Government agency. You will bridge business and technical teams from discovery through to design, testing, implementation and handover.

You will elicit and document requirements, facilitate workshops, and develop current and future state analyses, ensuring alignment with change management and training needs.

Qualifications

Job description

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Technical Business Analysts to support complex technology delivery projects within an Australian Government agency. The roles sit between business and technical teams, taking projects from discovery and scope definition through to solution design, testing, implementation and handover. The work covers requirements elicitation, current and future state analysis, technical documentation and change and training support.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, validate and document business, functional and non-functional requirements, including change management and training requirements
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and working sessions with stakeholders at all levels
• Develop current and future state analyses, identify gaps and assess impacts, risks, dependencies and organisational readiness
• Act as the liaison between business and technical teams to keep requirements, priorities and solution objectives aligned across the delivery lifecycle
• Work with technical teams on solution design, testing and implementation, in line with agreed change approaches and RACI responsibilities
• Develop and evaluate work breakdown structures and coordinate activities and dependencies across multiple teams
• Prepare and maintain project and technical artefacts, including technical requirements, As-Built documentation, implementation plans, transition plans and training materials
• Develop and deliver targeted communication plans for different stakeholder groups
• Capture and transfer knowledge as a standard way of working
• Align BA deliverables with the agency’s BA capability standards and delivery methodology

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Technical Lead delivering complex projects
• Experience in discovery, current and future state analysis, impact assessment and scope definition
• Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating work breakdown structures and managing dependencies across multiple teams
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams
• Experience producing high-quality project and technical documentation, including technical requirements, implementation plans and As-Built documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams, aligning with established team practices
• Experience analysing enterprise applications, integrations and technical architectures
• Technical background as a developer or senior developer
• Experience supporting operational technology, scientific, forecasting, environmental monitoring or data-intensive systems
• Formal qualifications or certification in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP, CCBA) and Change Management
• Experience in both Agile and traditional (Waterfall) project environments
• Experience developing and delivering training
• Experience with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams and collaboration tools
• Experience in large, regulated organisations, including Federal Government

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
• Current AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance preferred.
