Job summary

HCLTech Australia is seeking a Technical Architect to own strategic technology architecture delivery, refining and uplifting system architecture to meet customer expectations. You will guide Ab Initio-based solutions, ensure compliance, and help structure future-proof technology deployments.

The role involves leading design sessions, collaborating with clients and delivery teams, and driving continuous improvement across project lifecycles in a fast-growing tech environment in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of IT experience with Ab Initio, SQL, Unix, Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of ETL frameworks.
• Extensive data warehousing experience and Ab Initio tool expertise (GDE, Express>IT, MHub, EME).
• Able to design and build complex solutions using programming languages and ETL platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to capture and translate business requirements into technical terms and drive design of technology solutions.
• Design solutions and system/ software architectures aligned with business strategy and standards.
• Analyze requirements and determine appropriate solutions based on business needs.
• Resolve routine to moderately complex issues in solution architectures; assess risks and determine mitigations.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure architectures align with reference architectures and security standards.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement and drive learning across the project team and lifecycle.
• Take ownership of self and team effort across all phases of a project lifecycle.

Technical Architect is will be will enjoy taking ownership of the strategic delivery of technology architecture strategy including designing, refining and uplifting system architecture to meet the expectation of customers. Your role will provide a critical capability in helping technology delivery teams understand how their program progress fits into the wider group view and on how to best structure Ab Initio technology solutions to stay future fit, compliant and best in market.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work with clients to discover, analyze and document client business requirements, and translate into technical terms and drive team effort to design, build and manage technology solutions that solve business problems.
• Designing solutions, and system and software architecture according to business strategies and architecture standards/processes.
• Analysing business requirements and determining appropriate solutions to these requirements based on business needs.
• Resolving routine to moderately complex problems and issues in solution architectures; assessing potential risks and determining solutions to these risks.
• Collaborating with other team members, technology experts and business stakeholders to provide functional support to clients on solution architecture to ensure solutions align with Reference Architectures and cross cutting technology and security standards and policies.
• Exhibit outlook to bring continuous improvement, innovation and exhibit capability to learn new areas (technology, business domain, project management process) and drive the similar effort of team members:
• Undertake primary ownership in driving self and team effort across all phases of a project lifecycle

Education Qualification, Experience and Expertise

• At least 8-12years of IT experience with the following technologies : Ab Initio, SQL, Unix, Jenkins
• Must have good understanding of ETL frameworks.
• Extensive experience in the data warehousing and expertise in various Ab Initio tools such as GDE, Express>IT, MHub, EME
• Understand the problem statement, client requirements and design and build complex solutions using Programing languages, ETL platform, etc;
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to lead solution design sessions, documenting system/technical requirements
• Advanced SQL skills. Should be able to understand complex queries
• Exposure to Cloud Platforms will be a plus - AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Recommended experience with Kafka
