Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Australia invites experienced Solution Architects to join our Sydney delivery teams. You will translate complex regulatory requirements into robust architecture, define interfaces, OpenAPI specs, and guide delivery across engineering squads and vendors.

You will own architecture artefacts, design patterns, non-functional requirements, and drive integration strategies across microservices.

Qualifications

• Experience translating regulatory requirements into architecture artefacts.
• Ability to define interfaces, APIs and design artefacts.
• Strong engagement with engineering teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain solution architecture artefacts including SADs and HD documents.
• Define REST API specifications, schemas and interface contracts.

• Support testing, release readiness and operational transition.

Job Title:Solution Architect

Location: Sydney

Must-Have Skills:

Experienced, hands-on Solution Architects to support delivery across the Regulatory technology portfolio.

The Solution Architects will work with architecture leads, Technical Business Analysts, delivery teams, engineers, platform teams and vendors to translate business requirements and architecture direction into detailed, buildable solution designs.

The successful candidates must be comfortable working directly with engineering teams, understanding existing systems, defining interfaces and personally producing the architecture and technical design artefacts required to support delivery.

Good-to-Have skills:

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

• Government or other highly regulated environments.
• Transport, licensing, registration or regulatory systems.
• Large transactional platforms.
• Legacy modernisation or progressive system replacement.
• AWS / EKS.
• Kafka / Confluent.
• Kong or other enterprise API gateways.
• Snowflake.
• Oracle.
• GraphQL / Apollo.
• Data migration and coexistence.
• Cross-agency or third-party integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain Solution Architecture Documents (SADs) and High-Level Solution Architecture artefacts.
• Produce Solution Design Documents (SDDs) and detailed technical design specifications where required.
• Define REST API specifications, request/response models, schemas, error models and interface contracts.
• Produce OpenAPI / Swagger specifications.
• Develop system context, component, integration, sequence, data-flow and deployment diagrams.
• Define synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
• Define API, event, messaging, batch and file interfaces between systems.
• Work with engineering teams to define microservice boundaries, responsibilities and contracts.
• Define application, integration and system-of-record responsibilities.
• Define data ownership, data flows, identifiers, reconciliation and state-transition requirements.
• Analyse impacts to legacy systems and define coexistence between legacy and modern platforms.
• Design transition, migration, cutover, rollback and reconciliation approaches.
• Work with IAM and Security teams to define authentication, authorisation and security requirements.
• Define non-functional requirements including availability, resilience, performance, scalability, observability and recoverability.
• Support Technical BAs in translating business requirements, business rules and regulatory requirements into technical requirements.
• Lead technical design workshops with delivery teams and vendors.
• Participate in backlog refinement and provide technical input into stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work directly with developers and technical leads to clarify solution designs during implementation.
• Review detailed designs and implementation approaches for alignment with agreed architecture.
• Resolve solution and integration issues encountered during delivery.
• Maintain architecture decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks and deviations.
• Prepare architecture artefacts for review and respond to architecture, security, data and platform review feedback.
• Support integration testing, release readiness, cutover and operational transition.
• Maintain architecture artefacts as the solution evolves rather than treating architecture as a one-off design activity.
