Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions Limited in Mackay, QLD, is seeking a Technical Agronomist and Project Manager. The role focuses on delivering expert agronomic advice to sugarcane growers and mixed farming enterprises, driving productivity and sustainability on-site in Mackay.

You will manage projects, build strong customer relationships, and support local staff with training and technical guidance, contributing to water quality initiatives and environmental stewardship in the Great Barrier Reef catchment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Science or related discipline.
• Proven agronomy experience with strong technical expertise and customer relationship skills.
• Knowledge of sugarcane production systems, Great Barrier Reef initiatives, and water quality programs will be highly regarded.
• Current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert agronomic and technical advice to growers across the region.
• Project management, reporting and meeting key milestones.
• Develop crop nutrition, weed, and pest management plans that improve productivity and sustainability.
• Support branch field staff and training needs.
• Liaise with Government with legislation requirements and industry bodies.
