Job summary

Inner West Council is seeking a Team Member Loader to support waste collection and resource recovery services across day and/or night shifts. You will operate collection vehicles and assist in delivering reliable services including garbage, recycling and organics, while keeping to schedule and council standards.

Reporting to the Resource Recovery Coordinator, you will contribute to a collaborative, safety-first environment and meet daily targets. Flexibility across shifts and depots is essential.

About the role

The Team Member Loader plays a key role in delivering waste and resource recovery services to the Inner West community across day and/or night shift operations. Working as part of a team, this role is responsible for operating waste collection vehicles and supporting the safe, efficient completion of collection services including garbage, recycling, garden organics, clean-ups and lane servicing.

Reporting to the Resource Recovery Coordinator, the role combines safe vehicle operation with hands‑on collection duties, ensuring services are completed to schedule and in line with Council standards. The Team Member Loader contributes to a team‑based “group task finish” approach, supporting colleagues to meet daily operational targets while maintaining high safety and service quality outcomes.

The role requires flexibility to work across shifts, services and depots, and a strong commitment to work health and safety, customer service, and respectful engagement with the community.

Remuneration

$75,937.16 - $83,543.20 + 12% Superannuation
