Job summary

Unison Housing in Victoria is seeking a Team Leader for the Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP). This 12-month fixed-term role is based at the Werribee office with occasional Seddon attendance, leading a team delivering private rental support and housing services to renters and landlords.

You will foster a collaborative service culture, support complex client cases, and build strong partnerships with community organisations to sustain tenancies and achieve housing stability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and supervising a team in housing or community services.
• Knowledge of tenancy issues and Victorian legislation is highly regarded.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

Team Leader - Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP)

This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting others, solving complex challenges and making a genuine difference in the community. You'll lead a team delivering private rental assistance and housing support services, working closely with renters, landlords, real estate agents and community partners to create pathways to housing stability.

No two days are the same. From guiding your team through complex client situations to building strong stakeholder relationships and identifying practical solutions, you'll play a key role in achieving meaningful outcomes for people experiencing housing insecurity.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity classified at SCHADS Award Level 6, primarily based at our Werribee office, with occasional attendance required at our Seddon office.

As Team Leader (PRAP) you will:

• Lead, support and coach a team delivering private rental assistance and housing support services.


• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-quality service culture.


• Build and maintain effective partnerships with renters, landlords, real estate agents and community organisations.


• Support your team to navigate complex housing and tenancy matters and identify practical solutions that sustain tenancies.


• Monitor service delivery, ensuring clients receive responsive and person-centred support.


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and positive outcomes across the program.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience leading, supervising and supporting a team.


• A background in housing, homelessness, community services, private rental or a related field.


• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.


• Knowledge of tenancy and housing issues, with Victorian residential tenancy legislation highly regarded.


• Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.


• Resilience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting people experiencing housing insecurity.
