Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking a hands‑on Team Leader Network Operations (Plumber) to oversee maintenance and construction of water and wastewater reticulation systems. The role is based in Yeppoon and involves leading a team to keep essential services running smoothly for residents.

You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, participate in capital works, and ensure safety and reliability across the network.

Qualifications

  • Plumbing trade qualifications and a current Queensland Plumber and Drainer Licence.
  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card) is required.
  • Backflow Prevention endorsement, Working at Heights, Confined Space and Traffic Management certifications preferred.
  • Current motor vehicle driver licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater reticulation networks.
  • Play a key role in capital works projects including installing or refurbishing pipes, mains and infrastructure.
  • Undertake hydrant testing, valve servicing and backflow prevention activities.
  • Operate plant, tools and equipment essential to maintaining and improving the network.
  • Contribute to a positive, safety‑focused team environment.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Plumbing Trade qualifications and possess a current Queensland Plumber and Drainer Licence;
  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card);
  • Currently possess or have the ability to successfully obtain a Backflow Prevention endorsement, Working at Heights Certificate, Confined Space Certification and Traffic Management Implementation certification; and
  • Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
