Job summary

Komatsu Underground in Rutherford, NSW, is seeking an experienced Team Leader - Motors to supervise the overhaul, repair and delivery of electrical motors and components for underground mining equipment. You will lead a skilled motors team, ensure safe, efficient work and uphold quality standards.

You will work with planning, engineering and operations, drive continuous improvement, coach team members and promote a safety-first culture.

Job Overview

At Komatsu Underground, we're looking for an experienced Team Leader - Motors to join our Rutherford facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to supervise a skilled team responsible for the overhaul, repair and delivery of electrical motors and components supporting underground mining equipment.

Working closely with our workshop teams, planning teams and operational leaders, you'll play a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supervising the daily operations of the Motors team
• Promoting and maintaining a strong safety-first culture
• Managing workflow, resources and priorities to meet production and customer requirements
• Monitoring quality, performance and productivity outcomes
• Supporting the development and coaching of team members
• Working collaboratively with planning, engineering and operational stakeholders
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and quality standards

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous experience in a frontline leadership, supervisory or team leader role
• Strong people leadership and communication skills
• Experience coordinating workshop activities and resource utilisation
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Computer literacy and experience with maintenance or ERP systems
• Experience working within industrial, mining, manufacturing or heavy equipment environments highly regarded
