Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Team Leader - General Liability in Sydney, Australia, to lead day-to-day operations and mentor a claims team across hybrid work arrangements.

Job description

Your Role

Working with the Leadership and Management team this role will see you provide day-to-day leadership and technical mentoring to your team ensuring the delivery of a cost effective, professional and customer focused claims service, while developing staff and implementing quality initiatives. This role has a significant focus on leadership, customer service and continuous improvement. This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a hybrid approach working from our Sydney CBD office and Working From Home (WFH).

How you'll make an impact

• Ensure the claims team delivers exceptional Customer Service in a manner that upholds the SIRA Customer Service Principles
• Ensure the delivery of cost effective, professional and customer-focused claims service
• Lead quality assurance activities, including audit results, data integrity, process refinements
• Lead Tier 1 activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives and prevent any recurring or systemic incidents
• Manage team performance in line with team targets and service level agreements
• Ensure appropriate team capability with effective recruitment and staff development planning
• Provide day-to-day management and technical expertise to the team
• Manage approvals outside of team delegations in relation to payments, letters, declinatures, mediations, etc.

About you

• General Liability background with extensive insurance experience and at least 3 years management experience
• Ability to build and develop business relationship with clients and Service Providers
• Ability to comply with relevant state legislation
• Insurance policy interpretation skills

• Excellent customer service skills
• Commitment to quality and accuracy

ANZIIF Executive Certificate in General Insurance Claims or AQF Diploma of General insurance or industry equivalent (desirable)
