Job summary

Braemar College Limited, an independent co-educational school near Woodend, Victoria, seeks a part-time Visual and Performing Arts teacher for the Senior School. The role is a fixed-term position for Term 1, 2027, commencing 22 January 2027. Part-time applicants will be considered.

The successful candidate will deliver VCE Visual Arts with a focus on Ceramics, film and photography units, while fostering collaborative learning, student wellbeing and a growth mindset across the College community.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary teaching qualification enabling Visual and Performing Arts teaching.
  • VIT registration is required.
  • Experience delivering VCE Visual Arts or related subjects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Visual and Performing Arts in the Senior School.
  • Collaborate with staff to deliver across the curriculum.
  • Contribute to student wellbeing and aspire and thrive.
  • Deliver ceramics, film and photo units at VCE where possible.
  • Support College events and adhere to Child Safe policies.

Job description

Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College has two campuses, both of which arelocated near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate students. The position is a part-time fixed-term position for Term 1, 2027

and exists due to the teacher taking long service leave. You would commence on 22 January 2027. (Part-time applicants would also be considered)

About You:

The College seeks an outstanding teacher who is knowledgeable and passionate about the Visual and Performing Arts curriculum and current pedagogical thinking. It is expected that you will:

  • Have an enthusiastic approach to the education of young people including a focus on developing skills and underpinning knowledge.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with staff, delivering Visual and Performing Arts programs across the school.
  • Show a willingness and capacity to contribute to students' well-being by providing support and challenges, and giving them confidence to aspire and thrive.
  • Display innovation in curriculum and collaborative learning approaches.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Visual and Performing Arts. Particular interest in delivering a Ceramics class, film and photo unit and/or Art Creative Practise at VCE.
  • Display an individual learning disposition that strives for continual improvement.
  • Be a current VIT registered teacher.
