Total Remuneration Package: Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Melonba Public School is a new school located in the South Creek Network with over 1050 students.The school is located in Melonba in the north-west growth corridor of Sydney which has a high proportion of EAL/D students.The school is situated in a diverse and multicultural community. Student enrolments are expected to increase significantly in the first five years of operation as the surrounding area undergoes extensive development.

The school has capacity for up to 1000 students. Melonba Public School will include three support classes for students with disabilities and additional learning needs from 2026 and planning is underway for a preschool to open in 2027. The school is located at Swallowtail Street, Melonba, alongside Melonba High School.

Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs, including Autism and intellectual disabilities, while effectively supporting complex needs such as communication, sensory needs, wellbeing and challenging behaviour.
• Highly developed communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage proactively and professionally with students, parents, carers from diverse backgrounds and external agencies whilst contributing positively to whole school culture.
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum and implement individualised, culturally responsive and inclusive learning programs that maximise student success.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
