Job description

We are seeking to establish a pool of Chemistry and Physics Science Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

At Manea Senior College (SC), we have a strong moral purpose to provide students with quality teaching and learning opportunities as well as life experiences that enable them to transition into the adult world. This is achieved through an environment that is specialised for young adults and built on the foundation of strong relationships, mutual trust, respect, support and individual accountability. Our ethos is one of familiarity, with staff and students engaging on a first‑name basis, fostering an atmosphere where everyone is treated with the respect deserving of young adults. Our core purpose is to ‘prepare students for life,’ and central to this mission is our unwavering commitment to instilling a young adult environment with workplace expectations. We firmly believe that in order to support young individuals in their transition to the adult world, it is imperative to treat our students as young adults. This guiding principle permeates every aspect of our daily practice.

Strategically located with Edith Cowan University (ECU) South West Campus and South Regional TAFE (SRT), Manea SC students have access to facilities across the Education Precinct and the opportunity to pursue Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and general courses alongside nationally recognised training qualifications.

Our staff are expected to uphold the corporate image of Manea SC by wearing the staff uniform, adhering to the Department of Education code of conduct and participate in providing students with value‑add experiences and other student supports. In addition, it is expected that staff will maximise the use of the web‑based portals including Microsoft Teams to provide online access to teaching, learning and assessment outlines.

The Role

As a valued member of our team, we envision you as a conscientious, flexible, and innovative educator who is deeply committed to the holistic development of every student. Actively engaging in both the school and wider community, you will reflect thoughtfully on your teaching practices and display a commitment to evidence‑based decision‑making and differentiated instruction. We are establishing a pool for positions that may arise into the future – fixed term, permanent, part time and full time and we are seeking motivated applicants with a passion for teaching Science at the secondary level and a strong understanding of the Year 11 and 12 Curriculum. We are specifically seeking teachers with the capacity to teach senior secondary specialist Science subjects, including Chemistry and Physics. In this role, you will deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse learning needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Your dedication to academic excellence and high‑quality teaching and learning will help set the standard for our learning community. We place high value on your strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, anticipating your active contribution to shaping and promoting the school's values, ethos, and priorities across the entire school community. Building positive relationships with students and inspiring a passion for learning while creating positive futures aligns seamlessly with our shared values and culture.
