Job summary

TAFE NSW seeks outstanding educators to inspire and mentor the next generation of Heavy Vehicle students. This permanent full-time role is based at the Wetherill Park campus and involves delivering hands-on, practical training as part of a high-quality, industry-relevant program.

You will guide student learning, share your skills and passion, and support learners across school and post-trade qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in either Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on, practical training for Heavy Vehicle students.
  • Guide and mentor the next generation of Heavy Vehicle learners.

About the role

We are seeking outstanding educators to inspire and mentor the next generation of Heavy Vehicle students. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at Wetherill Park campus.

As a TAFE NSW Teacher, you will guide and enhance student learning by delivering hands‑on, practical training. Our teaching section focuses on providing high quality, industry relevant training, delivered to a wide range of learners, including school students and those pursuing post trade qualifications. Share your skills and passion for your industry, help students build the skills, qualifications, and employability to support their career goals.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in either Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.

Highly regarded but not essential:

  • Hold a Certificate of Proficiency showing the completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
