Job summary

TAFE NSW’s Newcastle Campus is seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Fitting and Machining students. Two permanent full-time positions offer the chance to join a dynamic team and deliver high-quality vocational training.

Successful candidates will have a Certificate III in Fitting and Machining (or equivalent) and relevant teaching qualifications or a commitment to undertake the 14-week Paid to Learn course.

Qualifications

• Have appropriate vocational qualifications with a minimum of Certificate III in Fitting and Machining, or equivalent.
• Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see candidate support document) OR a willingness to undertake our full-time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry, gained no longer than five (5) years previously.

$111,798 - $132,585 Salary Package: includes salary range $98,499 to $116,813 per annum plus employer's superannuation and annual leave loading (salary offered will be based on experience).

• Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum of Certificate III in Fitting and Machining, or equivalent.
• Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full-time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course.

Highly regarded but not essential:

• Additional skills, knowledge and industry experience in CNC machining, pneumatics and hydraulics, automation and emerging manufacturing technologies. Applicants are encouraged to outline their experience in these areas and how it could support the delivery of contemporary fitting and machining training.

Paid to Learn

for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
