Job summary

Wilton Ridge Public School seeks a dynamic Teacher Librarian for a permanent part-time role (0.4FTE, 2 days per week). The successful candidate will commence mid Term 4, 2026, to assist the Principal in establishing and resourcing the library for effective curriculum delivery.

Approval to teach with NSW Department of Education is required, including literacy and information literacy integration across K-6, with emphasis on inclusive practice and collaboration with staff.

Wilton Ridge Public School and Public Preschool is a new primary school being constructed within the Panorama Estate at Wilton and has projected enrolments of 200 students. The school is scheduled to open on Day 1, Term 1, 2027, to meet the needs of the rapidly growing local community.

Wilton Ridge Public School will open with enrolments from Preschool to Year 6. The site will include a public preschool accommodating up to 60 children, as well as special education classrooms designed to meet the needs of students requiring additional support. The school will feature flexible learning spaces, specialist teaching areas, and contemporary facilities that foster engagement, wellbeing, and collaboration across all stages of learning.

Located on Dharawal Country, Wilton Ridge Public School will provide a modern, inclusive, and community-focused learning environment that reflects local values and the Department’s commitment to excellence, equity, and cultural responsiveness in public education.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education with demonstrated capacity to promote critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and a love of literature through well thought out resource selection and management.
2. Demonstrated capacity to plan, implement and assess high-quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs across K-6, with the flexibility to teach an identified syllabus area and integrate information literacy, research skills and quality literature.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with teaching staff on curriculum planning, implementation and assessment.
4. Capacity to organise, manage and implement a stimulating library learning environment, encompassing the physical space and resources of the library to positively impact teaching and learning that is inclusive of Aboriginal Histories and Cultures, High Potential and Gifted Education, and the diverse learning needs of all students.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Wilton Ridge Public School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Teacher Librarian to join our growing team. Due to the unique and complex nature of establishing a new school, the Foundation Teacher Librarian will commence mid Term 4, 2026, to assist the Principal in establishing and resourcing the library to ensure successful curriculum delivery.
