Job summary

NSW Department of Education invites applications for a Teacher Librarian at Warrawong High School (Years 7–12). You will lead the establishment of the new library and oversee the Senior Study Centre, guiding students and staff in information literacy, digital research skills and ethical information use.

The role requires unconditional teaching approval to Library Secondary, and engagement will be temporary until the Teacher Librarian qualifications are completed within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Unconditional full approval to teach is required.
• Approval to teach Library Secondary is required or currently being pursued with NSW Department of Education.
• Experience managing library operations and systems (including Oliver).
• Ability to support students and lead staff in information literacy and digital research skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and set up the new library at Warrawong High School, expected ready in 2027.
• Manage the Senior Study Centre within the Library.
• Collaborate with teaching staff on curriculum planning, implementation and assessment.
• Support students with inclusive information literacy and research skills.
