Townsville Grammar School is seeking a passionate Learning Support Teacher to join our Junior School team at the North Shore Campus, working three days per week.

You will provide targeted learning support and develop educational adjustments in collaboration with teachers, parents and external specialists to help students with diverse needs reach their full potential.

Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.

Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational,non-denominational School with a current enrolment of approximately 1400 students, including 120 boarders (7-12), of whom approximately 25 are international students.

As one of the eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School was established in 1888 and has offered boarding since this time. Working within a collaborative and student-centred environment, you will provide targeted learning support to students through in-class, small group and individual interventions, while assisting in the development and implementation of educational adjustments and support programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Learning Support Coordinator and Head of Junior School, you will:

• Support students with diverse learning needs through individual, small group and classroom-based interventions.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective learning adjustments.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and growth.
• Liaise with parents, external professionals and relevant support agencies regarding student needs and educational planning.
• Assist with verification processes and support programs for students requiring adjustments.
• Contribute positively to the life of the School through participation in meetings, professional development and school activities.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Relevant teaching qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Experience supporting primary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
