Job summary

Blaxland East Public School is seeking a Teacher Learning and Support to join the team in Blaxland East Public School. The role focuses on planning and delivering evidence-based interventions to improve learning, engagement and student wellbeing.

The successful candidate will coordinate Learning and Support activities, manage access requests and funding processes, and monitor NCCD procedures while using data to tailor support for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach with demonstrated expertise in planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based interventions.
• Highly developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively as part of the learning and support team.
• Experience coordinating Learning and Support teams, managing access requests and IFS, overseeing NCCD processes, and implementing Small Group Tuition Programs.
• Knowledge of supporting students with complex learning, behavioural and wellbeing needs, including personalised learning plans and data-informed practice.

Teacher Learning and Support - Blaxland East Public School

Blaxland East Public School is situated on Dharug land in the lower Blue Mountains with approximately 371 students, including 31 students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Our school is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations, academic excellence and student wellbeing.

The school has 16 classes, including a Multi-Category Support Class and an Opportunity Class. Students benefit from a broad range of academic, sporting, creative arts and leadership opportunities, supported by dedicated staff and a highly engaged school community. Our active and supportive Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) plays an important role in school life, working collaboratively with staff and families to enhance student opportunities, improve school facilities and foster a strong sense of community.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach with demonstrated expertise in planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based interventions to improve learning, engagement and wellbeing outcomes for all students.
2. Highly developed communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the learning and support team to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, external stakeholders and the wider community.
3. Proven experience in coordinating Learning and Support teams, managing access requests and Integration Funding Support (IFS), overseeing the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) processes, and implementing and monitoring Small Group Tuition Programs.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting students with complex learning, behavioural, social-emotional and wellbeing needs, including the development and monitoring of personalised learning plans, reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions, using data to inform practice.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
