Teacher Industrial Technology – Timber - Fairvale High School

Fairvale High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school in South-West Sydney, proudly serving a diverse, multicultural community. The school successfully caters for the academic, social, and wellbeing needs of approximately 1,314 students, with 97% from a language background other than English. The predominant cultural groups include Vietnamese, Arabic, and Assyrian. There are 316 students from refugee backgrounds and 25 Aboriginal students. Seven diverse learning classes cater for students with autism, mild intellectual disability, and moderate intellectual disability. The school has a Family Occupation and Employment Index of 170.

The school employs 150 teaching and non-teaching staff members, including four deputy principals. Staff are highly dedicated and collaborative, fostering a caring and inclusive school culture that values high achievement, strong relationships, positive wellbeing, and educational excellence.

Fairvale High School offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which includes VET pathways, designated EAL/D classes, and timetabled Literacy and Learning Support classes. An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
