Teacher Science - Bundarra Central School

Bundarra Central School is situated on the banks of the Gwydir River, on the traditional lands of the Kamilaroi peoples, in the small rural township of Bundarra. The school caters to the educational needs of students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and has between 100 - 120 students, with 28 students currently identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. It provides a quality learning environment for all students through the delivery of a diverse curriculum, using innovative practices which focus on quality teaching and learning.

The school has strong community ties and works closely with local groups and stakeholders. Students are encouraged to become engaged and active learners who are provided with a wide range of academic, creative, cultural, sporting, and agricultural learning opportunities tailored to their needs. Senior students can access a range of HSC courses and vocational education pathways to help them pursue aspirational future careers and post school study.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to Teach 7-12 Science, with the ability or demonstrated capacity to teach Stage 6 Biology.

2. Ability to design, deliver and evaluate innovative teaching and learning programs to cater for a diverse range of learners.

3. Evidence of effective classroom management to promote a supportive and positive learning environment.

4. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community.

This advertisement qualifies for permanent part-time employment; therefore, applicants seeking either permanent full-time or permanent part-time work are encouraged to apply.
