Job summary

Bendigo Kangan Institute is seeking a part-time Teacher Construction/Civil to deliver accredited civil construction and pre-apprenticeship training to adult learners in a correctional setting. You will assess, record progress, and ensure compliance while fostering a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The role is 0.6 FTE on a fixed-term for 12 months, with flexible days and starting remuneration of about $94,772.16 plus 12% super (pro rata).

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) required.
• Certificate III in Civil Construction, or Certificate II in Building & Construction, or Certificate II Supply Chain Operations.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction) required.
• Relevant civil construction experience and ability to teach adults.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Location: Fulham Correctional Centre

Role Type: Part Time (0.6 FTE) fixed term for 12 months

Remuneration: starting $ 94,772.16 plus 12% super (dependent on qualifications, pro rata)

Role

As a Teacher Construction/Civil, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment in Civil Construction and Pre-Apprenticeship programs to adult learners within a correctional setting. Your role will include:

• Delivering accredited civil construction and pre-apprenticeship training aligned with industry standards and safety regulations
• Supporting learners to build confidence and competence in construction skills and workplace readiness
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress, assessments, and compliance documentation
• Creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learner needs
• You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to providing vocational education that empowers learners and contributes to safer communities
