Job summary

Bendigo Kangan Institute is recruiting a part-time Teacher Construction to deliver civil construction training to adult learners at Fulham Correctional Centre. The role focuses on accredited training, safety, and workplace readiness within a correctional environment.

You will maintain records, support student progress, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive learning atmosphere while collaborating with a team of vocational education professionals across Australia.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and trade/industry certificates.
• Current White card (Construction Induction) and civil construction experience.
• Experience delivering training to adult learners is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accredited civil construction and pre-apprenticeship training.
• Support learners to develop construction skills and workplace readiness.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, assessments and compliance.
• Create an inclusive learning environment and uphold safety standards.
• Contribute to a supportive vocational education team serving communities.

About The Role

Location: Fulham Correctional Centre
Role Type: Part Time (0.6 FTE) ongoing
Availablity: flexible with days
Remuneration: starting $ 94,772.16 plus 12% super (dependent on qualifications, pro rata)

Role

As a Teacher Construction, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment in Civil Construction and Pre-Apprenticeship programs to adult learners within a correctional setting. Your role will include:

• Delivering accredited civil construction and pre-apprenticeship training aligned with industry standards and safety regulations
• Supporting learners to build confidence and competence in construction skills and workplace readiness
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress, assessments, and compliance documentation
• Creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learner needs
• You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to providing vocational education that empowers learners and contributes to safer communities

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
• Certificate III in Civil Construction, Certificate II in Building and Construction or Certificate II Supply Chain Operations (or equivalent)
• Current White card (Construction Induction card)
