Talara Primary College in Queensland's Sunshine Coast region invites applications for a School Support role, assisting and supporting teachers with preparing learning materials and activities. The position focuses on fostering inclusive education and supporting student learning.

You will work with students across literacy, numeracy and wellbeing, supervise playgrounds and activities, maintain records and learning resources, and collaborate with families to support a positive learning environment.

About us:Talara Primary College is a P-6 Education Queensland State Primary School which opened in 1998 with 300 students. Today Talara Primary College caters for around 1000 keen and enthusiastic students eager to learn. Ongoing parent involvement is an important aspect of our support.Your opportunity:Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.Responsibilities:Support teachers in delivering quality educational programs and preparing learning materials.Assist students with learning, development and classroom activities.Provide individual and small-group support in literacy and numeracy.Support students with special needs, including personal care, meals, toileting and mobility where required.Promote students' health, safety, wellbeing and independence.Assist with playground, bus and excursion supervision.Maintain student records, class rolls and other administrative tasks.Prepare, organise and maintain classroom equipment and learning resources.Support reading, storytelling, practical activities and hands-on learning experiences.Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with teachers, students and families.Demonstrate empathy, patience, confidentiality and respect for students with diverse needs.Follow relevant health, safety and supervision requirements, including maintaining required first aid qualifications.Please refer to the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities.Interested?
