Job summary

The Industry School, on the Sunshine Coast, is seeking a passionate and supportive Teacher Aide for a full-time, eight-week term from 6 October to 27 November 2026. You will work closely with our Education team to provide classroom support and help students achieve educational outcomes.

You will assist with learning materials, student supervision, and building a positive learning environment, requiring patience, empathy, and excellent communication with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in classroom or educational settings.
• Patience, empathy and consistency in supporting students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and learning support under Teachers' direction.
• Build rapport and encourage engagement, independence and confidence.
• Identify learning needs and collaborate with Teachers to tailor support.

• Support supervision during activities, events and excursions.
• Maintain student records and learning-support administration.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and supportive Teacher Aide to join our Sunshine Coast Campus on a full-time, maximum-term contract for eight weeks, from 6 October to 27 November 2026.

Working alongside our Education team, you will provide additional classroom support to our students, helping ensure our young people remain engaged, supported and able to achieve their educational outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing classroom support and learning support to students under the direction of Teachers.
• Building positive rapport with young people and encouraging their engagement, independence and confidence in learning
• Recognising individual learning needs and working collaboratively with Teachers to provide appropriate support
• Assisting Teachers with the preparation of learning materials, resources and classroom activities.
• Supporting the supervision of students during educational activities, events and excursions
• Maintaining appropriate students records and assisting with learning support administration
• Supporting campus activities including wellbeing days, induction events, parent insights, open days and graduation.
• Working collaboratively with the Education team to create a positive, inclusive and productive learning environment.

You are someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people and understands the importance of patience, empathy and consistency in supporting students to thrive:

It would also be advantageous to hold a Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and/or current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
